Voices from Africa” was first presented at The United Nations in January 2005 as part of the CORE Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration. Filmed entirely on location, ”Voices from Africa” presents the views of small holder farmers who are waiting for biotechnology in Kenya and who are already benefiting from it in South Africa. Dr. Channapatna S. Prakash, Professor in Plant Molecular Genetics and Director of the Center for Plant Biotechnology Research at Tuskegee University will discuss the latest developments in the World Trade Organization’s position on biodiversity.“Voices from Africa” is an intimate view of the continent’s need for agricultural biotechnology through the words of the farmers themselves.
